Frequently Asked Questions About Our Printing

Products and Ordering

Can I order 2-color printing?

Yes you may, however, if any PMS colors are produced out of four color process, some colors may vary and OJ Graphix Inc. cannot be responsible for 100% color matches. Please note that all metallic inks have an additional charge of $35.00.

What is digital printing?

Print On Demand (POD) originated in the late 1980s as a strategy to produce books, magazines, marketing materials, newsletters, and other printed material in run lengths that were smaller than traditional offset printing could economically accommodate.

The introduction of the high-speed digital production printer ushered in a new era in the graphic arts industry. Since its start, digital printing has continued to evolve and today provides a high-quality and cost-effective alternative to traditional offset printing.

Digital printing is the process of taking digital files and outputting that file directly to the printed page. Unlike traditional offset printing, digital printing on demand eliminates the need to create film and plates, thus reducing the overall production cycle time. Hard-copy files can be scanned and placed into a digital library along with digital originals to print materials Just In Time. Printing on demand allows a print buyer to order an exact number of materials, and have them printed, bound and shipped in a matter of days, if not hours.

Digital printing has historically been dominated by black and white technologies, but four-color technologies are currently available. Digital printing lends itself perfectly to versioning and customization. Variable data can be implemented so each printed piece is completely unique. Direct marketers can achieve One-to-One marketing by leveraging digital printing technology.

Can you print jobs that are different than the standard formats you offer?

You bet! Among our services are our Custom Print Orders. Keep in mind we are your short-run digital printers as well as conventional commercial ones too. Simply email us or use our Request for Quote form to submit quotes and/or upload files you are interested in having customized.

Can my printing have bleeds off the edge?

What kind of paper will the job be printed on?

OJ Graphix Inc. has an extensive "paper library." So, if you require a specific paper type, give us a call. Job prices will vary with certain types of stock.

How well will the job match what I see on my monitor?

70% of the time what you see on your monitor and what gets printed is a close match. This is called Soft-Proofing. However, because of different monitor calibrations, some printed colors may not always match your monitor's colors. See below for requesting hard copy proofs.

How long does it take to get the proof of a job?

Files uploaded before 1:00 pm EST should expect a email PDF proof same day. Files uploaded after 1:00 pm EST should expect a email PDF proof the following day.
